DroidEdit Free is a robust and elegant source code editor that includes syntax highlighting for several languages (C, C++, C#, Java, HTML, CSS, Javascript, Python, Ruby, Lua, LaTeX, SQL). It can open files stored in your device memory or directly from Dropbox or Box.
The DroidEdit interface is very smooth, offering a system of tabs from which you can quickly alternate between files. From the pullout menu at the bottom right of the screen you can also search words, replace commands, or force syntax.

Oh yeah! Using Samsung GT-S5301 running Android 4.0.4 w/ this old ver 2.1.X and it worked great (y) Was even installing from phone folder moved via USB from PC download .apk.
